This is just a really great film made by David Fincher. As a result of my currently being a bit under the weather with gut issues and it being 9 PM when I write this, I'm rushing through this December Madness review. I don't have much to say either, so let's get into it!

PLOT: Straightforward.

The plot is basically just a game of Hitman which is nothing to complain about here. It's well-focused, directed, and shows a clear understanding of what audiences wants to see: a badass killer killing people. It's simple, to the point, and easy to grasp.

CHARACTERS: Not super advanced.

By far, this is David Fincher's most simple and easy to process story. These characters show this off as well as the characters feel simple and uncomplicated to the point of almost being one-note. That being said, it's enjoyable and simple.

SHOTS: Well-done.

Well-done shots just make a movie easier to watch. This movie understands that and uses masterful cinematography and editing to make it more pleasing to look at. Just a great looking movie all around. Kudos to cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt for this one!

SOUND: Frightfully good.

Sound design is good when it doesn't stick out. Sound design is GREAT when it does for the right reasons. This film builds a sense of anxiety all the way through with its sound design and use of music. Although, I was shocked to see Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails worked on this, then again it makes sense why The Smiths were so prevalent in this movie.

WRITING: Quick and efficient.

Like its primary main character, the movie is quick and efficient. It's never settling in one place longer than it needs to or any less than it needs to. Just a well-written film with a surprisingly silent protagonist who only talks when he needs to.

CONS: It killed Tilda Swinton.

She must have it in her contract that she dies in any movie that she feels she doesn't want to stick around for. Doctor Strange, Narnia, she just dies a lot. Stop wasting Tilda Swinton, damnit.

VERDICT: A solid film all around.

Just an quick and well-made film that makes you not like its protagonist but makes you like the story. All around, just a solidly made movie. Sorry for the shortness of this review again, but I had very little to say.

SCORE: 9.5/10
